We have found locations that fill the void and fit the lifestyle:-

Escape to Treasure Beach, Jamaica

Situated on the Southern coast and protected by the Santa Cruz Mountains, Treasure Beach is truly unlike any other place and also boasts one of the driest climates in Jamaica.

We love it for its community based theme wherever you are. Be it a boat trip up the black river, lunch at the floating Pelican Bar or an evening at Jakes you will simply immerse yourself in a laid back Jamaican existence.

“Treasure Beach is a gem for travelers in search of the off-beat. You won’t find a more authentically charming and relaxing place in Jamaica.”

Escape to the North Devon Coast, UK

This is where we learnt and the kids are still learning to surf ! There is a huge array of activites in and around the beaches. Nothing beats packing the boards and the BBQ and heading down for the day at Putsborough beach. The best way to finish off is with a pint or three of Doom Bar at the Rock Inn, Georgeham !!

We love long weekends and lazy weeks Devon Style.

Exmoor National Park
The Coastal Path

Escape to Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Stretching about 21.5 square miles, Tortola is the largest of the BVI’s and has a bit of everything.

We love using this as a base to explore the other islands, although you’ll be spoilt for choice just staying put on Tortola. The weather is a pretty constant 28 degrees and the views of the other islands are spectacular. Painkillers are the cocktails of choice, so sit back and sip the rum.

The best bits

Lobster on the BBQ !

Escape to Trancoso, Brazil

Trancoso is in the surfing state of Bahia and is one of the oldest fishing villages in Brazil. The area has transformed into a rustic escape with incredible beaches yet no serious development. An all year round climate with only a 3-4 degree temperature shift means it’s great all year round.

For a complete chill out take a trip to Caraiva village which has no electricity or even cars. Or simply kick back on one of the seven beaches with a Caipirinha or three !

The best bits

Native’s Beach
Surfing on Taipe Beach

Escape by Campervan, UK

For a trip back in time, nothing beats trundling down the road in an old V-dub fully loaded with food & booze. Crank up the tunes and slow right down. We love heading down to Cornwall and discovering deserted little coves and big waves. Fishing off the rocks as the suns sets and grilling on the BBQ under the stars.

The best bits

You make the route
Lunch at Fifteen, Watergate Bay
The smile on your face
Camping is cool
Fistral beach
Padstow/ Padstein
